SUMMARY

Scentscible Fragrance: where sustainability and wellness intertwine in a new perfume concept. Inspired by personal memories and traditions, I crafted bespoke scents using natural ingredients for a healthier planet and body. Unlike mainstream brands laden with toxins, these fragrances prioritize purity and transparency. My journey began by rediscovering small-scale, sustainable fragrance brands, leading me to redefine wellness as sustainability for the body. Leveraging insights from the booming wellness industry and Gen Zs demand for sustainability, I created an accessible yet luxurious fragrance experience. Our fragrance-making parties empower individuals to craft their signature scent fostering a deeper connection to oneself and the planet

challenge

I did a deeper dive into the wellness industry looking also at Gen Z and beauty where I found that Gen Z has an increased desire to pay more for sustainable products. This shows that leveraging beauty, wellness and sustainability is a viable change for the fragrance industry. Additionally, I found that individuals have a growing desire to understand exactly what they are participating in and what they are putting on their body. Lastly, I found that many bespoke fragrances are offered at high price points making them unaccessible to many users.

Outcome

My final project ended in fragrance making party where I hosted several individuals and guided them through making their own scent using a simple recipe of essential oils, alcohol and distilled water. This process proved that being involved in and knowing exactly what you are putting on your body makes users more likely to participate in fragrance-wearing because they are both informed and in charge of their own scent. People are waking up to the need to ask what’s in here? Being able to answer this question straightforwardly is much more valuable than you would think. From fragrance-making parties with friends to personalized blends, Scentsible Fragrance's approach to scent is transparent, empowering, and accessible.
