SUMMARY
RadArt is a program where Rad Power Bikes invites local artists to embark on a creative journey to customize electric bikes into unique art pieces. These collaborative art shows will take place at Rad stores located throughout the country, as well as in other venues in cities where Rad does not have a store. We curate artists whose work resonates with Rad’s existing audience or hold the potential to captivate a new demographic. Our main focus is on community and finding ways to get more involved in the local cities Rad is based in, creating a positive impact. This will generate content creation and user engagement, having attendees share their experience, serving as an organic promotion for the brand.
challenge
Our strategy involves several different aspects, in which we eventually host an event to test out our audience’s responses. The process required collaborating with an artist, producing merch, and event planning. The challenge arose with the realization that our plan is more than just a theory based school project but an actual activity that needs financial investment, problem solving skills, and be ready for any sudden changes that might affect the overall schedule or even outcome of our work.
Outcome
Fortunately, our team was able to make this event come to life at Whalebone magazine, where we collaborated with artist Rob Wilson to create custom illustrations, and we printed out to be placed on the bike. Through our prototype, we received positive feedback that helped us solidify our idea. Our strategy is for Rad to expand this plan and collaborate with a more diverse group of artists in other cities that the stores are located in, as well as other cities across the country. Hosting the art event would help engage their community and potential customers for the purpose of promoting the brand and present a different side of Rad. For the future aspect, Rad can produce bike skins with artists and release the collections on a larger scale.
