SUMMARY
Embark on a colorful journey with CandyLab Maps. We started by reimagining toy selection as a collaborative experience for families. Through research and prototyping, we discovered a demand for toys that foster social interaction, personalization, and connection for families. Our maps of iconic NYC neighborhoods offer more than just coloring and decoration—they ignite shared family experiences and create lasting memories. CandyLab Maps brings families together, encouraging creativity, education, and bonding. Join us in transforming playtime into an adventure that celebrates togetherness and the joy of exploration.
challenge
children and parents. For children, the need is met through interactive/educational play, fostering deeper connections with loved ones. Parents benefit from a transformed buying experience, aligning with the opportunity to create memories with their kids. By turning a typical purchase into a joint creative endeavor, the product bridges nostalgia and joy, which is an overlooked aspect in many toy offerings. Lastly, turning finished products into home decor meets the family's desire for personalized, meaningful items that reflect their identity and shared experiences. Overall, CandyLab Maps addresses gaps by merging play with collaboration, offering emotional value beyond mere functionality.
Outcome
The project evolved into Candylab Maps, offering customizable neighborhood maps paired with interactive coloring experiences. This unique product directly addresses the need for engaging, family-centered activities within urban environments. By combining education with creativity, it fosters meaningful connections between families and their cities. The accompanying wooden frame adds a personalized touch, turning each map into a cherished memento. This innovative concept fills a gap by providing both entertainment and educational value, catering to families seeking shared experiences that celebrate their local surroundings.
