SUMMARY
Embark on a profound exploration of Taime’s artistic vision. Taime, a 23-year-old trans nonbinary artist from Paris, France, weaves fashion and music together to craft immersive experiences. With this collection, they explore how the body interacts with the mind during dysphoric episodes and how clothes can help you overcome it. This collection conceptualizes clothing as armor or cages through variations of corsets and crinolines, which shape the silhouette. In the same idea, the music focuses mainly on one key, C#m, and its variation to create that cohesion. The sounds range from melancholia to upbeat and unsettling instrumentals with a focus on the ambiance each room and garment provides.
challenge
Their biggest challenge was to share their vision in the most comprehensive way. When conceptualizing this work, they asked themselves, “What do you like?” They concentrated on skateboarding, creating androgynous silhouettes, and making unorthodox music that would tell their story most sincerely.
Outcome
The collection is shown as a trailer in the manner of Alfred Hitchcock or a French noir movie. The story is an endless day in Taime’s workshop; they take you on the journey of their creative process and into their psyche. Each room is intended to display a short story told through silhouette and music. This collection is mainly addressed to an LGBTQIA+ audience, including artists, fashion lovers, musicians, and people who can find echoes of their lives in their work.
