SUMMARY
Wave by 1000 Ocean Startups, a strategic corporate partnership under the coalition. Wave utilizes the coalition’s members with incredible backgrounds and expertise to help corporations be more sustainable. Wave offers services such as investment strategies, access to keynote speakers, startup access and climate tech education to corporations to achieve their sustainability goals in the realm of the ocean sector. Introducing Wave into the ecosystem will not only help 1000 Ocean Startups achieve their financial goals, but would also support the coalition's mission to accelerate ocean impact aiding to UN SDG 14.
challenge
1000 Ocean Startups relies on member donations and funding to operate, but worried about the power dynamic being created in their ecosystem due to this financial model, they approached Parsons to help enhance their financial model for a more sustainable growth and self sustenance. As we delved deeper on our research into the coalition, we identified tremendous potential among the people in their coalition.
Outcome
We introduced a strategic corporate partnership which utilizes the existing knowledge the coalition has under its ecosystem. With incredible background and potential the members have, we are going to open up the partnerships which provide services to corporations in regard with blue economy investment strategies, climate tech education, access to keynote speakers and startup access to make the corporations more sustainable. As the coalition’s mission is to accelerate the UN SDG 14, introducing this partnership is not only helping them achieve their financial goals, while also contributing to ocean conservation through the partnership’s clients, which are the corporations.
