SUMMARY
My project explores how music labels can integrate AI ethically while protecting artists rights and creativity. Beginning with interviews and research, I identified a gap in guidance for ethical AI use, uncovering fears among artists and employees about losing control over their work and challenges for labels balancing profit and ethics. I developed a B2B framework focusing on transparency, education, and sustainable practices, alongside a prototype licensing platform. This work ensures AI empowers creativity, supports artists, and addresses the evolving needs of the music industry.
challenge
Through interviews with artists, industry professionals, and professors, I identified key challenges: artists fear losing control over their work due to AI, while labels struggle to balance profit with ethical practices. A significant gap is the lack of guidance for ethical AI integration, leading to transparency issues, concerns over fair compensation, and a lack of support for employees impacted by AI. These gaps highlighted the need for a structured framework and tools to ensure AI supports creativity, protects artist rights, and aligns with industry ethics.
Outcome
The project resulted in a B2B framework tailored for music labels and a prototype AI-powered music licensing platform. The framework focuses on transparency, education, and sustainable practices, addressing key stakeholder needs like protecting artist rights, ensuring fair compensation, and supporting employees impacted by AI. The platform simplifies licensing processes while promoting ethical AI use. Together, these solutions fill the gap in the market by empowering labels to adopt AI responsibly while safeguarding creativity and trust in the music industry.
