SUMMARY
Care Rx addresses inefficiencies in prescription renewals, as 71% of patients use telehealth for this. With 24% switching doctors due to slow renewals, more had to be done. Our goal: reduce physician burnout due to worker shortages. Care Rx uses an AI avatar to guide patients through the renewal process, which generates a report for physicians to review and approve. This reduces administrative tasks, allowing doctors to approve multiple renewals in the time it takes to process one, enabling better patient care.
challenge
We identified that physicians wanted to reduce their administrative burden through desk research and interviews. We also noticed that patients were churning if renewals took too long. Patients want a faster process, without loosing the personal touch of talking with someone. The healthcare system needs to address the growing demand due to workforce shortages, which is impacting physicians.
Outcome
Our project takes the shape of an application, that can be mobile facing for patients and physicians as well as embedded within telehealth company systems. Our Ai avatar consults the patient alone, which cuts out the need for a physician. Rather, the physician is involved only in the final step before renewal, which can be completed from their fingertips. This gives physicians their time back by optimising their schedule. Patients also receive faster renewals, which in turn, improves customer retention.
