SUMMARY
We reimagined Richard Sachs' craftsmanship by developing "Decor by Sachs," a lifestyle expansion featuring a handmade steel lamp called "The Light." Inspired by Sachs' intentional process, we merged form and function to create a sculptural, minimalistic decor piece. This project matters because it allows customers to experience Sachs' legacy beyond bicycles, preserving the brand’s values while expanding into new, modern environments.
challenge
We identified that Richard Sachs' customers seek deeper brand engagement beyond bicycles. Through interviews and site visits, we found a gap in the lifestyle decor market for authentic, artisanal products. The opportunity was to expand Sachs’ brand presence while maintaining exclusivity, craftsmanship, and brand storytelling, without weakening his legacy.
Outcome
The final outcome is "The Light," a limited-edition, steel-crafted lamp designed by Sachs, himself. It directly addresses the customer need for meaningful, collectible products and fills a market gap for premium lifestyle goods grounded in authenticity. It offers new revenue opportunities without compromising Sachs’ hands-on legacy or brand integrity.
