SUMMARY
Farms2Forks, began with a question: How can we reconnect diners to the origins of their food? Through research, interviews, and various prototyping iterations, I developed a pop-up supper club that immerses diners in the food cycle. Guests receive a mailing kit with seeds and a journal to track their planting journey, culminating in a seasonal, locally-sourced dining experience. Testing revealed the emotional impact of growing and harvesting food, fostering deeper connections and sustainability awareness. This matters because it transforms dining into a meaningful act, bridging the gap between people, food, and the planet.
challenge
I identified a major gap in consumer awareness about food origins, sustainability, and the environmental impact of dining choices. Interviews with farmers, chefs, and diners revealed a disconnect—diners craved meaning and connection but lacked engaging, accessible ways to act on sustainability. Farmers and chefs highlighted the need for storytelling and seasonal focus to create value. This insight led to an opportunity: bridging the gap with an immersive dining experience that combines education, personal involvement, and community building to inspire lasting habits and awareness.
Outcome
The project evolved into Farms2Forks, a pop-up supper club offering diners a hands-on, immersive experience. Guests receive a mailing kit with seeds and a journal to grow and reflect on their food journey before attending a seasonal, locally-sourced dinner. This directly addresses stakeholder needs by reconnecting diners to the origins of their food, offering farmers and chefs a platform to share their stories, and filling a market gap for sustainable, meaningful dining experiences. It bridges the disconnect with education, personal involvement, and community-driven impact.
