SUMMARY

In between the two weeks, a teaser will be released every week on Thursday at 3pm. There will be two teasers for each video, each being 10-15-seconds long. We prototyped two episodes. The first episode is about the story of Karen's journey before the Jewelry Library (TJL), how she founded TJL and the vision and mission for TJL. Our second video's prototype is a 15-second teaser, where Karen will visit artisan Biba's world and uncover her world of jewelry and personal ties to TJL.

challenge

We identified a gap in engaging young audiences with contemporary jewelry beyond traditional retail or gallery settings. Through the “Journey with Karen” series, we saw an opportunity to bridge this gap by offering intimate, story-driven content that humanizes jewelry and its makers. This meets the needs of both jewelry enthusiasts and underrepresented designers by creating a platform that educates, inspires, and fosters community.

Outcome

The project took the form of a digital video series featuring Karen’s personal journey through the world of contemporary jewelry, highlighting diverse makers and meaningful pieces. This format makes jewelry more accessible and relatable, especially to younger audiences. By combining storytelling with education, the series addresses the market gap by engaging viewers emotionally and intellectually—bringing attention to underrepresented voices while building a stronger connection between creators, collectors, and curious learners.
