SUMMARY
Parsons Pathways is a BBA mentorship program inspired by my journey as both a mentee and mentor—experiences that shaped my growth, confidence, and sense of belonging. As a mentee, I found guidance during uncertain times; as a mentor, I discovered the joy of empowering others. This program builds a structured mentorship network to foster those same transformative connections within the Parsons community. By pairing upperclassmen with first-year students, we create a foundation for support, collaboration, and lifelong success, strengthening our community and preparing for impactful futures.
challenge
By surveying 70 Parsons students and conducting interviews with both students and alumni, I identified a clear gap in accessible mentorship and alumni connections. Many students expressed difficulty in knowing how to effectively reach out to alumni or use networking platforms, leaving them unsure of how to navigate career opportunities. This research revealed the need for a structured mentorship program that can bridge these gaps, providing students with direct access to industry insights, guidance, and networking opportunities to support their career goals.
Outcome
The Parsons Pathways BBA Mentorship Program evolves beyond traditional networking by integrating mentorship directly into the curriculum, making it an inclusive, accessible resource for all BBA students. This integration ensures that every student, regardless of their background or prior connections, has the opportunity to engage with alumni and industry professionals. By embedding mentorship into the academic experience, the program creates a continuous, structured framework for career development, fostering long-term relationships and providing consistent opportunities for guidance, career insight, and professional growth.
