SUMMARY

RFID Press-On Nails began with the idea of blending fashion and technology, transforming traditional nail art into a tool for convenience and connectivity. By embedding RFID chips into reusable press-on nails, we created a product that allows for tasks like contactless payments, keyless entry, and effortless sharing of personal portfolios. Through research and prototyping, we discovered the importance of user-friendly designs, sustainability, and durability. This innovation matters because it bridges the gap between beauty and functionality, redefining how individuals interact with everyday technology in a stylish and eco-conscious way.

challenge

I identified stakeholder needs for convenience, sustainability, and innovation in the beauty-tech market. I noticed gaps such as the lack of multi-functional press-on nails and concerns about durability, affordability, and privacy. I saw opportunities to create reusable RFID-enabled nails that streamline tasks like payments, networking, and access control, while supporting sustainability through recyclable materials. I gathered these insights through user surveys, interviews, and market research, revealing a demand for stylish, practical solutions that address everyday challenges in a tech-savvy and eco-conscious way.

Outcome

The project culminated in the development of RFID-enabled press-on nails, a fusion of fashion and technology. These nails streamline tasks like contactless payments, keyless entry, and networking while maintaining a stylish aesthetic. They cater to stakeholders' needs by simplifying routines and offering a practical solution for busy professionals and students. Additionally, the project addresses market gaps by integrating sustainability, leveraging recyclable RFID components, and aligning with the growing demand for eco-conscious, innovative beauty products.
