SUMMARY
I noticed there are a lot of people owns a important jewelry pieces but they never wear them in daily life because the old aesthetic of the jewelry or the design or style of the jewelry doesn’t fit their preference. Beside this, people also feel very afraid to make any changes on their jewelry pieces because they think this will change the meaning behind the jewelry so my idea is provide people a service and space that allowing them to have self-discover, understand themselves and their jewelry, to redesign and remake the jewelry by themselves.
challenge
In my project, I highlighted the disconnect between significant inherent meanings and modern aesthetics. A lot of people owns important jewelry pieces but they never wear them or only wear in specific occasions due to the old style and design of the jewelry pieces or the style they don't like. I also emphasize how there’s a lack of platforms or service that help customer to connect with their significant jewelry piece.
Outcome
The final idea for this project is a DIY jewelry design studio that provides people 2 different kinds of self-discover exercise, allowing people to discover their connections between themselves and their jewelry and also developing their redesign inspirations for their jewelry. We also provide our users to remake their jewelry piece by themselves, to solve the worries of updating or redesigning the jewelry might change the meaning or the memories of the jewelry.
