SUMMARY
Spork is a digital platform created to reconnect restaurants with their customers. The rise of delivery services like GrubHub and Uber Eats has made food delivery easier but more impersonal, pushing diners away from the authentic experiences that small and medium-sized restaurants strive to provide. This growing disconnect makes it difficult for restaurants to build meaningful relationships and stand out. Spork addresses this challenge by answering: How can we create a platform that helps restaurants improve delivery strategies, capture customer interest, and differentiate themselves? I identified three key problems that restaurants face.
challenge
The first issue is tablet mayhem: restaurants rely on separate devices for each delivery platform, creating clutter and requiring constant monitoring. This unorganized setup causes delays, frustrating staff and customers alike. The second issue is fragmented data: restaurants lack a unified view of sales, inventory, and demand. Online and offline data remain disconnected, making reporting time-consuming and error-prone. The third issue is customer disconnection: digital intermediaries make it difficult for restaurants to build personal relationships with customers and foster loyalty.
Outcome
The first solution is Centralized Platform Management. Spork integrates all delivery platforms into a single interface, allowing restaurants to quickly act. They can customize menus, manage orders, set store hours, and launch promotions, all while integrating with their POS system. The second solution is Automated Data Reporting. Spork consolidates inventory, finances, and sales data in real-time. Visualized insights help restaurants identify trends and act effectively. Finally, Spork Solutions uses an algorithmic model to analyze data, offering actionable delivery strategies like promotions, ads, and branding to drive customer loyalty.
