SUMMARY
My project began with a mission to empower Indian artisans struggling to transition into the global e-commerce market. Through interviews, surveys, and case studies, I explored their challenges: limited digital skills, visibility, and logistical support. I developed a platform concept that connects artisans to the resources, training, and tools needed to become self-sufficient in the digital marketplace. This matters because it enables artisans to preserve their cultural heritage while achieving economic independence in an increasingly digital world.

Stakeholders include artisans, consumers and e-commerce platforms. Artisans lack digital skills, visibility, and logistical support, hindering their ability to connect with global markets. Consumers seek authentic, sustainable products but struggle to find reliable sources. E-commerce platforms face challenges in scaling artisan partnerships while preserving cultural integrity. These gaps came from interviews, case studies, and surveys, showing the need for tech integration, storytelling, and streamlined logistics. Addressing these gaps provides opportunities to empower artisans, meet consumer demand, and bridge tradition with technology.
Outcome
My project evolved into an e-commerce platform designed to empower Indian artisans by bridging their transition into the digital marketplace. It addresses key stakeholder needs: artisans gain visibility and access to global consumers through resources, storytelling, tech integration, and logistical support; and e-commerce gaps like scalable partnerships and streamlined operations. I wanted to emphasize a sense of blending cultural preservation with modern commerce, and the platform aims to tackle these barriers of digital illiteracy, market disconnection, and limited global reach.
