SUMMARY

My project tackles fast fashion’s environmental impact by creating a sustainable secondhand clothing platform. Combining user research and technology, we streamlined the shopping experience to reduce waste, empower eco-conscious consumers, and build trust in secondhand fashion. By addressing industry challenges and promoting circular practices, this initiative contributes to a more sustainable and responsible fashion future.

challenge

Through stakeholder research, I identified key gaps in trust, accessibility, and engagement with secondhand clothing platforms. Users need help with authenticity, overwhelming options, and efficient search tools, which discourage sustainable shopping. Sellers need better tools to showcase items and grow their reach, while the industry needs more transparency on environmental impacts. These insights were derived from user interviews, market analysis, and competitive reviews, highlighting opportunities for streamlined user interfaces, improved trust mechanisms, and educational initiatives to bridge these gaps.

Outcome

The project evolved into a platform that merges technology, sustainability, and fashion to create a seamless secondhand shopping experience. This solution integrates AI-driven tools like virtual try-ons, trust verification systems, and tailored recommendations to address user pain points such as overwhelming choices and lack of authenticity. For sellers, the platform provides enhanced visibility and streamlined listing processes. By bridging these gaps, the project not only meets stakeholder needs but also promotes sustainable fashion and reduces the environmental toll of fast fashion.
