SUMMARY

ArtLinked began with a simple question: what if emerging artists didn’t have to chase popularity to be seen? Through research, interviews, and iterative design, I built a prototype for a platform that reimagines recognition—one grounded in trust, not algorithms. Artists apply with intention, define their visibility goals, and share curated portfolios, while professionals discover talent through meaningful filters. ArtLinked changes the system from noisy exposure to purposeful connection—because recognition should start with the artist.

challenge

I discovered that emerging artists face a lack of credible, intentional visibility. Institutions rely on networks and name recognition, while artists are left navigating noisy platforms that prioritize engagement over depth. Through interviews, surveys, and journey mapping, I uncovered a shared need: artists want to be discovered for their work, not their reach, and professionals want to find talent aligned with their values. This gap revealed a clear opportunity for trust-based discovery.

Outcome

The project became ArtLinked—a curated platform built on LinkedIn’s infrastructure that supports intentional recognition for emerging artists. Artists apply with proof of work, define discovery preferences, and build dynamic portfolios. Institutions gain tailored tools to search, shortlist, and engage meaningfully. This model directly responds to artists’ need for credibility and professionals’ need for focused discovery—bridging the gap with a trusted, purpose-driven network.
