SUMMARY
Instead of trying to increase engagement with young adults and millennials, we saw an opportunity to embed Fidelity within the user's life at a much earlier age. No other legacy financial institution offers a robust, made-for-kids investment product- by introducing kids to the Fidelity ecosystem at an early age, the transition to a standard account at 18 is seamless and second-nature. Fidelity Sprout, our final solution, introduces youth to the Fidelity ecosystem much earlier in life, providing a solid foundation for responsible investment practice as well as a robust financial education from a young age.
challenge
Nearly $84 trillion dollars are expected to be transferred into 2045. Our client partner, Fidelity, is at risk of losing a massive customer segment as generational wealth transfers from older Baby Boomer generations to beneficiaries (Gen-Z), who tend to favor more tech-forward, innovative brokerage platforms over legacy companies like Fidelity. At the moment of transfers, how do we ensure those assets remain within the Fidelity ecosystem?
Outcome
Fidelity Sprout is an app that introduces investment principles and financial literacy to kids in a low-stakes, easy-to-understand format. Rooted in principles of cognitive childhood development and designed to evolve with the kid as they grow, Fidelity Sprout equips the user with meaningful financial understanding in a fun, engaging way. Instead of chasing adult engagement, Fidelity Sprout starts cultivating it early on, establishing Fidelity as a lifelong financial partner.
