SUMMARY
Through both primary and secondary research I explored how constant exposure to curated beauty and lifestyle content impacts the self-esteem and real-world social connection of young women. I discovered that a lot of young women feel pressure to meet impossible standards and struggle with comparison. Forme matters because it offers a wellness social club rooted in factual and accessible health information where young women can rebuild confidence, reconnect with themselves, and form healthier relationships with social media.
challenge
A lot of young women lack accessible, real-world spaces where they can openly discuss social media pressure and rebuild confidence beyond curated content. There is a need for stronger media literacy tools that help them understand how edited, aesthetic-driven posts shape their self-perception as well. Young women also reported difficulty forming genuine social connections, often feeling isolated or stuck in comparison cycles. Ultimately, there is a growing demand for spaces and real-life experiences that create authentic connection, self-confidence, and a healthy balance between online and offline life in the digital age.
Outcome
Forme is a women’s wellness-focused social club that helps young women slow down and reconnect. It offers a human-centered, non-performative alternative to influencer wellness, combining fitness, meditation, nutrition, spa services, events, and community spaces. Its mix of in-person experiences and digital content fosters authentic connection and self-awareness. The Real Edit, Forme’s monthly zine, blends credible research with real stories to provide honest, empowering guidance. Together, the club and zine build confidence, self-awareness, and meaningful connection, setting Forme apart from typical wellness platforms.
