SUMMARY

My project began with a simple question: why is the creative industry still so fragmented? Existing casting platforms focus on models alone, leaving out photographers, stylists, makeup artists, and other creatives who rely on each other to work. I designed an inclusive casting app that brings every creative role into one shared space, making it easier to connect, collaborate, and get discovered. Through research and testing, I learned that accessibility and visibility are the biggest industry gaps. This project matters because it empowers creatives with equal opportunity.

challenge

I identified that creatives across roles lack a unified, accessible place to find work and collaborators. Models have dedicated platforms, but photographers, stylists, makeup artists, and designers are scattered across social media or word-of-mouth networks. Through interviews and competitive research, it became clear that this fragmentation causes missed opportunities, slow communication, and unequal visibility. The opportunity lies in creating one inclusive ecosystem that centralizes casting and expands access for everyone.

Outcome

The project became an inclusive casting app that brings all creative roles onto one platform. It offers role-specific profiles, project postings, and direct collaboration tools so creatives and clients can easily find each other. By centralizing the industry’s scattered network, the app solves the core gaps I identified: lack of visibility, slow discovery, and limited access. Its unified structure directly responds to stakeholder needs for a more efficient, equitable, and connected creative ecosystem.
