SUMMARY
My project began with seeing how both medical and cultural healing showed up in my own life. Through research, interviews, and 50+ iterations, I discovered that traditional Middle Eastern remedies aren’t trusted. Not because they don’t work, but because they aren’t designed for Gen Z. I created a modern coffee table book that brings this knowledge back with clarity, visuals, and cultural grounding so everyday healing feels both credible and familiar.
challenge
I found that people struggle to trust traditional remedies because they lack clear guidance, modern design, and credible framing. Young adults rely on social media for health info, but the content is overwhelming, aesthetic, and rarely grounded. Parents and elders hold cultural knowledge, but it isn’t packaged in a way Gen Z can absorb. This gap creates confusion, mixed messages, and a loss of cultural memory. The opportunity was to translate this heritage into simple, visual, credible everyday healing.
Outcome
The project resulted in a modern visual design book that reintroduces Middle Eastern healing through clear layouts, illustrations, and cultural cues. It addresses the trust gap by making remedies simple, credible, and easy to skim. It moves knowledge out of overwhelming online spaces and into a structured format young adults prefer. It also preserves cultural memory by translating elders’ guidance into a modern, accessible visual reference.
