SUMMARY
It started with a simple question: Why is getting care so hard? That was the start of Mikata Health. We’ve developed a pop-up healthcare model that delivers fast and accessible services to people in their daily environments. Research on patient behavior and barriers to care showed us that convenience and trust are the biggest drivers of engagement. Mikata Health meets people where they are, breaking down barriers and transforming healthcare to be simple, local and forward-thinking.
challenge
We did research and observation and found major gaps concerning accessibility, convenience and trust. Long wait times, high costs, and difficulty navigating traditional systems lead many people to delay care. Young, busy people value speed and ease the most, but have little flexibility. It was an opportunity to move healthcare from reactive to preventive through the integration of services into everyday spaces, making care feel more accessible and part of daily life.
Outcome
The project brought about a pop-up healthcare model that could provide rapid, accessible care to everyday spaces. We have developed a flexible system of mobile clinics that provide basic services, including screenings and consultations. It directly addresses important barriers by reducing wait times, increasing convenience, and making care more approachable. The model helps encourage earlier engagement and more proactive health behaviors, as it meets people where they are.
