challenge
Artisans and designers struggle to collaborate due to fragmented communication, unequal access to opportunities, and low trust in remote partnerships. Artisans lack visibility and consistent work, while designers face uncertainty around quality, timelines, ethical sourcing, and connecting with the unique crafts essential to their creative vision. These gaps highlight a need for clarity, transparency, and support in cultivating the relationships that allow craft and design to come together.
Outcome
The project ultimately took the shape of LOOM, a transparent digital app designed to support sustainable collaboration between artisans and designers. Its structure, interface concepts, and storytelling framework directly address the identified gaps by simplifying communication, increasing access, and building trust. Ultimately, LOOM offers a shared space for creative partnership and a pathway to strengthen the future of craft.
