SUMMARY
I began by exploring natural approaches to emotional and physical wellness, which led me to Traditional Chinese Medicine and its holistic, accessible rituals. Through research, interviews, and prototyping herbal tea workshops, I discovered that people are curious about TCM but need approachable, sensory ways to understand it. This insight shaped Qi Studio, an integrated space where visitors learn, create, and heal through modern, culturally grounded TCM experiences.
challenge
Research revealed a clear gap between growing curiosity about TCM and the ability to access it in ways that feel understandable, trustworthy, and culturally grounded. Many stakeholders felt overwhelmed by unfamiliar terminology, unsure how to start, or hesitant to approach traditional clinics. Current offerings are either too clinical or too commercial, leaving little space for approachable, sensory learning. This highlighted an opportunity to reintroduce TCM through simple, guided experiences that build comfort and confidence.
Outcome
The project led to the creation of Qi Studio, an integrated wellness space that introduces Traditional Chinese Medicine through tea rituals, hands-on workshops, accessible classes, and practitioner-led healing. This model directly addresses stakeholder needs by offering simple, sensory entry points for beginners while providing credible, culturally grounded care for those seeking deeper support. By blending education, experience, and treatment in one environment, Qi Studio fills a market gap for approachable and authentic TCM in a modern urban context.
