SUMMARY
This project reimagines wellness for Gen Z by bridging ancient healing traditions with modern accessibility. Inspired by my own transformative experience with Reiki, I investigated why holistic care often feels exclusive, confusing, and overpriced. Research and interviews revealed a clear need for credible education and trustworthy access. In response, I created a monthly at-home healing kit that teaches one modality at a time and connects users to real practitioners. Thus, making wellness transparent, culturally grounded, and genuinely accessible.
challenge
I uncovered key gaps shaping today’s wellness experience: high costs, unclear pricing, limited credible education, and a disconnect from cultural roots. Through interviews with Gen Z women and practitioners, it became clear that young consumers crave trustworthy guidance, while practitioners struggle to reach those seeking real support. This revealed a strong opportunity to create accessible, culturally grounded education that builds confidence and meaningfully bridges both sides of the wellness landscape.
Outcome
The project resulted in a monthly at-home healing kit paired with practitioner-led education that introduces one holistic modality at a time. Each kit includes a therapeutic tool, an accessible zine, a podcast with a trusted practitioner, and discounted sessions from local NYC providers. This model directly addresses stakeholder needs by lowering cost barriers, clarifying confusing practices, and restoring cultural context. It builds trust, offers guided exploration, and creates an approachable, credible entry point into holistic wellness.
