SUMMARY
My project began with one question: why does planning a trip to Saudi Arabia feel so overwhelming? Through research and interviews, I discovered that travelers trust locals more than official sources and crave authentic, human guidance. I designed See Saudi Like a Local, a community-built travel guide that combines verified information with real local stories. It helps visitors plan confidently while experiencing the warmth, creativity, and everyday life of Saudi Arabia.
challenge
Through my research, I found that visitors struggle to plan authentic trips because travel information about Saudi Arabia is scattered, overly polished, and often outdated. Many tourists rely on social media or friends instead of official sites, showing a major trust gap. Locals also want to share real experiences but lack a platform to do so. This gap between official tourism and everyday voices became the key opportunity to create something that feels human, current, and truly local.
Outcome
The project became a working website called See Saudi Like a Local, a digital guide that connects visitors with real, verified local insights. It combines practical planning tools with authentic stories, current events, and cultural tips from locals. By blending reliability with warmth, it fills the trust gap travelers face and gives locals a space to share their voices. The result is a platform that makes trip planning feel human, simple, and emotionally connected.
