SUMMARY

Try Now began with a simple frustration: online fashion lacks the tactile trust of in-store shopping. Through research, stakeholder interviews, and iterative prototyping, I designed a hybrid solution that connects users with in-store assistants via live video to see, hear, and better understand products in real time. This reintroduces human interaction, material education, and emotional connection into digital retail. It matters because shoppers want confidence, not just convenience, when making decisions online.

I identified a key gap in online fashion: the lack of sensory engagement and human interaction. Stakeholders, including consumers, retailers, and experience designers, consistently expressed frustration with uncertainty around fit, fabric, and product quality. Through surveys, interviews, and journey mapping, I uncovered the need for more trust-building touchpoints. The opportunity lies in blending digital convenience with real-time, human-centered experiences to reduce hesitation and return rates in online shopping.

Outcome

The project culminated in Try Now, a hybrid shopping feature that connects online fashion shoppers with in-store assistants via live video. This solution allows users to see, hear, and interact with products in real time, addressing the need for sensory engagement and human interaction identified during research. By integrating tactile demonstrations, personalized guidance, and post-session recaps, Try Now bridges the gap between digital convenience and in-person trust, directly tackling consumer hesitation and reducing return rates.
