SUMMARY
The world is evolving and technology is only becoming more prominent in every aspect of our lives. The average person spends around 6 hours a day looking at a screen and Gen Z and millennials are known for being online and around 30% of them have an online shopping addiction. That may be for convenience or time but nothing tops going into a store, feeling the clothing, and seeing everything they could potentially purchase. With our vr service we bring the experience to their fingertips while comfortably sitting down and getting all their shopping needs done with minimal effort and interaction. There are so many little issues that people face when going into stores which lessens the experience but now can be avoided when you shop virtually.
challenge
The challenges I encountered were development of the technology to execute these large scan experiences. There are companies already attempting to add VR and even AR to their physical locations but there is still so much that is unclear about what the tech can and cannot do. Another gap I noticed was the lack of education around the usage of AI and VR. There are a lot of people who disagree with the usage of AI but once you use it there is so much more that can be accomplished. Companies have already started using AI for more backend sectors but the retail experience has so many opportunities of how it can be used to draw in more clientele.
Outcome
Chewy AI is your personal AI chatbot assistant to guide you through your virtual retail experience. Long lines are the past, interacting with customers are no longer needed, you have the store to yourself. This service would be purchased by retailers to enhance the in person experience and increase foot traffic. The floor layouts would consist of comfortable furniture and the back is a warehouse with all the inventory. As the customers explore the store, their interests and interactions are collected for AI to curate recommendations from the store’s database. They will also be able to view how the garments look on their body from a 3D scan and check out with the choice of delivery or take home today.
