SUMMARY
Circle Summit Group was conceptualized from my frustration with bad environmental practices of corporations. I questioned why sustainability has been slowly and reluctantly adapted and how we can fix this. I learned about how sustainability was being communicated and conducted interviews with people in sustainability roles. I synthesized my findings and discovered that sustainable practices are attainable but companies require education. Circle Summit Group was built off of the challenges of others in order to create strategy for meaningful change. We are at a crossroads with climate change, where we either make the necessary changes for environmental preservation or continue with our way of life.
challenge
Throughout my research, I was able to identify three gaps within the scope of sustainable development: sustainability teams are most often small and overworked, companies have low intrinsic motivation for sustainable development, and there is a lack of vocalized support from company leaders. Corporate environments are typically hesitant towards sustainable development because of the perceived financial costs and the momentum built within their current business strategy. Change is daunting and ultimately requires an open-mind that corporate structures lack. There are a lot of misconceptions about sustainability could be cleared up with understanding and education.
Outcome
Circle Summit Group is a conceptual consulting agency that helps companies realize sustainable development within their business structures. We believe in the power of conversation and collaboration, bringing the company together in unconventional ways. By facilitating a space that allows the company to address its current struggles, we are able to guide conversations in a positive direction for long-lasting change. Through a custom built strategy for each company, we are able to turn misconceptions about sustainability into intrinsic motivation for sustainability adaptation. Circle Summit group is a facilitator for sustainable development, helping companies set realistic targets and goals, guiding the pathways to achieve them.
