Seat at the Table
A thoughtfully curated ecosystem activity by Chilewich
Isabela Reynolds Edelstein
A curated ecosystem activity and roundtable event hosted by Chilewich that works to transform the homeware industry through thoughtfully curated conversations that are uplifting and productive while creating accountability. These conversations take place at a carefully curated sustainable table, featuring products from companies which claim environmental responsibility and a locally sourced seasonal menu to create an inclusive, engaging and thoughtfully designed dining experience.

Initially, our ideas were based on designing a human centric campaign that focused on showcasing how Chilewich products enhance human interaction and special occasions in life. We worked to make the project relevant to our individual and shared interests in a cohesive way. Our main challenge was executing our concept to the standard we aimed for in the allotted time. Working in an organized mural board through the semester, we kept track of our concept progression and all logistical obstacles. Throughout our process, we talked to many experts and stakeholders. It was a learning experience to identify which voices and which aspects of the project to prioritize, and to allocate an appropriate amount of time for each of them.
Alongside our final pitch, we created a table display, catalog and event playbook with financial analysis that was handed out to the panel of Chilewich Executives and professors. We hosted a mock event and photoshoot in the Chilewich Garden on Earth Day for the catalog, website, and instagram content used to inform the effectiveness of our visual storytelling. Through our analysis, we discovered the balance of organic flow and moderation necessary to make a roundtable conversation beneficial to all participants. Our proposed pilot event offers a friendly atmosphere to build functional relationships, talk about challenges, openly discuss obstacles and develop solutions together. Chilewich offers a seat at the table.
