SUMMARY
Candylab Toys aims to cater to adult preferences while maintaining its upscale, sustainable identity. We developed a mystery series of blind box toys for car enthusiasts of all ages, capitalizing on the collectible aspect. Research led us to focus on playability, complementary sets, and blind boxes, creating a variety pack with a mystery vehicle, sign, and themed packaging that doubles as a display stand. Our new communication platform, CandyTalk, fosters community and feedback. Promotion strategies include featuring the product line on our website and pop-up vending machines in New York City.

challenge
Initially, we thought we could only choose one of three directions, but later discovered we could integrate all elements for an innovative solution. Clear communication and guidance from lead professors enabled a collaborative approach, ultimately leading to a successful outcome.
Outcome
Our prototype introduces a vintage lunch bag-inspired variety pack with a mystery car and sign inside. The Mystery Car Box features one of six construction vehicles and a unique display, offering an engaging unboxing experience. Collectors are incentivized to complete the set, with random supplementary collectibles like construction and traffic signs. We've created CandyTalk, a platform for Candylab customers to connect, trade toys, and form an enthusiast community.
